Nikon Girl
I have added text to a photo in Affinity Photo, but it is invisible. I know it's there, but I'm not able to add color to the text by hitting the boxes near the font adjusters. Very confused. How can I make my text visible? Thank you-Naima

Is the text layer above the photo layer on the Layers panel? If not, the text would be invisible because the photo is covering it. Nikon Girl
Also, I just wanted to copy and past a paragraph, but it seems to just go long rather than paragraph format, how can I cut and paste a paragraph and keep the format? thomaso
The layer with "Aas a guests" is covered by the Background layer above, the currently selected "Art Text" layer is visible but still empty. Don't use the Art Text Tool but the Frame Text Tool instead for text which should break in lines. It will be in the little disclosure triangle on the A in the Toolbar. Nikon Girl
I've selected text and am in the correct layer, but can't figure out how to change the color which menu box is associated with text color and which with the background within the text frame? Make more use of Affinity tool tips, they help to find and understand instances of the interface. Reduce their delay in the app preferences to make them pop-up earlier. If you mean the top layer in your screenshot, the one labeled "(Art Text)", have you typed anything in it? If not, there is not yet anything to display in it besides its visible & very narrow bounding box. Text color: see e.g. "Context Toolbar" (… and/or Swatches panel and/or Colour panel and/or Tools panel … not to mention Text Style Editor dialog window … In short: there are several spots and they depend on your workflow) Frame color(s): see "Text Frame Panel" Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 only
