A supplier asked me to do this:

"In Adobe Illustrator select all of your text, Choose “Type” in the navigation bar at the top of your screen then “Create Outlines.” This will convert all of the text into shapes so I don’t need to have the same font that you used for the print."

I recently stopped using Adobe Illustrator and bought Affinity Designer. I don't see this function under the "Text" menu. I tried "View > View Mode > Outline" but when I printed this as a PDF the text was no longer outlines. How do I create outline type?

As the name of the "View" menu suggests, this is only a way of viewing the document.

In addition to the advice above – and that in the link provided – you may also be able to convert the text to curves automatically upon export, depending on which file type you are exporting to, by setting the relevant export option – see attached image.
This allows you to convert to curves in the export while keeping the text editable as text in the original document.
Check the exported result very carefully just in case the conversion to curves did something odd.
