Print vs what I can see on screen is very different

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I'm just having a bit of trouble with printing a proof. The bars on the side of the image (see attached file) aren't printing when I print from the designer app. I had no problems with the file in illustrator and if I export to a PDF and then print then the lines show up. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Are you able to upload the AD file, it's difficult to determine the issue from the screengrab alone...

Anything specifically, I've never had issues printing directly from Affinity...

Bugs, old and new, general lack of functionality.

A few examples..

The preview showed a red "your artwork doesn't fit the page" overlay on everything, regardless whether it would fit or not (now fixed, but was in there for a while).

You can choose a CMYK output profile, but what you don't see is that the app converts back to RGB in the background and messes up the colours.

Borderless printing has been broken on and off. (I think it works at present).

The quality of output is inferior to that from Adobe Reader.

Issues with transparencies being rendered to the printer with erroneous borders.

Hi Stzef,

When I print this file here it prints correctly with the white border. Please could you provide a screenshot of each section of the print manager so I can look at all your settings and see if any of them differ to mine?

Thanks

@Callum I think what the OP is referring to are the angled stripes (which are 5% white) on the left and right of the artwork, rather than the white border you can see in the screengrab (assuming that is what you are referring to)?
