Hi there!

I was able to get my hands on a Ryzen 5900 and a RX 6800.
The PC ive got there should be able to handle everything quite well - but Affinity Photo works like crap.

On 02.04.21 ive bought Photo, Publisher, Designer and canceled my long-term Adobe subscription.
Now is the time my subscription ended and i cant work at all - Affinity Photo is so slow while working (brushes for example), that it doesnt make any sense to use that software.

I think OpenCL could (should?) solve this performance issue, but i cant activate it.

What i need and want is a solution to that problem, any suggestions?

Edit: Im using a fresh installed and updated Windows 10.
All drivers are updated. My PC got 32 Gb RAM with the correct settings.
The size of my raw files are about 33 - 39 Mb (Canon). I got performance issues even when opening just one photo.

Hi @Affinity-userr,

Welcome to the forums and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble!

Can you please confirm the following for me:

What Affinity version is installed currently? This can be found through Help > About

Under Edit > Preferences > Performance what are your settings please? (A screenshot of this dialog would be most helpful)

What camera model do the Canon RAW files originate from?

I'd also like to request a screen recording so I can better understand the steps you're taking, and the issues you're experiencing. Could you please attach a quick video showing this for me?

If you're unsure how to take a screen recording, please see the below link -

Many thanks in advance :)
