Well the Nikon Z9 ist pretty new, much too new to be yet supported in libraw, which Affinity's converter is based on.

Actually the following cams are known to be supported by Affinity's libraw based engine:

And even Apple's RAW engine which is alternatively usable (you can switch to) in Affinity Photo for Macs, doesn't support a Z9 yet:

I believe beside Nikon itself with it's Nikon Studio, there will be only few third party converter apps (usually from the big field players) which might already support the Z9 at all yet. - Maybe CaptureOne or LR but I don't know for sure here, since as said the Z9 is probably still too new on the market!

☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2

Adobe's DNG converter doesn't support it yet, and that usually leads the field.

Looks like to be the same for C1 too (see for example here and other similar requests there).

It does not appear that Affinity has been updated to work with the files from the Z9. Affinity is my "go to" processing program and to have to take an extra step and process through NX Studio is a real pain in the workflow. Any word from Affinity Support on this problem??

How should they (?), Affinity depends here entirely on libraw and when libraw will support it! - See a related topic on the libraw website: libraw Nikon Z9!
