Mac. M1. Monterey: FFT Denoise. Paint Brush problems

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm having problems paint brushing the FFT details in Affinity Photo Filters.   The selected Brush diameter is much bigger than the actual blacked-out circle.  ( I couldn't get a screenshot because the Circle circle guide-lines didn't show up).  But the actual painted area is about a third smaller than the brush size.

Thanks

Welcome to the Affinity forums @Steve Ellaway!

Have a look at the top of the denoise window where you can set the brush size (and other settings) or maybe I did not understand your problem ...

Hey Steve Ellaway,

The reticle is slightly offset for me - I'll feed this back to the developers. I've also found another bug on the Windows version so thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Update - I think I was doing it in the middle so it was stamping two brushes making it look offset. Can we have a video to see what you're seeing please Steve?

Thanks for that. Yours is miles off! I get maybe a few pixels because of the 80% Hardness but yours looks more like you're using almost 50% Hardness, despite it saying 80%. I will poke this a bit more and feed it back to the developers—thank you.

Hi Chris.  Thanks again, but I have just discovered that I'm having the exactly the same issue with brushes in Photoshop!!  It's mind-boggling!  So it must be an Apple Monterey M1 issue?!  It doesn't make sense.  I don't know if your Affinity developers cam make sense of it?

Cheers

Steve
