meefox
Masked shape is not completely overflow main object. Using square as masked object produces 1px outline from mask background. 1) create mask with red background 2) use a square with darker color square as a symbol masked by object above (Curve) 2) observe outline of 1px, this is background from mask (Curves), better is visible on dark canvas But it should be filled up by one color. Staff Sean P Posted November 9, 2021 Staff Share Posted November 9, 2021 Hi meefox, Unfortunately what you're seeing is a common problem with vector objects and shapes when they're clipped. Its caused by the anti-aliasing being applied to the edges. There is an Anti-aliasing option inside the Blend Ranges dialog to control this, which will allow you to remove the fringing. meefox
Thank you, for this option, but I noticed without AA edges looking very harsh. top - AA off bottom - just simple a shape with AA Is it possible to still have AA?

The workaround I have been using for this (at least I think this is the same use case) is to use the shape as a layer mask instead of clipping. Its not as versatile, but it can be a useful work around.
sleekdigital
Hopefully this screenshot can make the idea more clear. The Clipping layer is the one on the left, the Masking on the right. Notice the Masking doesn't have the red outline around the dark area. The downside is that you need an extra shape for the background color (in this case a red rectangle.) meefox

meefox
@Hens yes it works, thank you very much. Wondering why this option is off by default.
