Ellipsis
I've updated my Macbook Pro to Monterey and since then I cannot export my work from neither Photo nor Designer. When I go to File > Export, a dialog box opens but when I select my export options and click Export button, dialog box disappears and nothing happens. Usually I'm prompted to select file location to which I want to export. Is this happening to other users as well or is it just me?
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. From the FAQ: For Photo, you might try the newly released 1.10.5 beta, which has some improvements in this area: Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.3, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.3.
CH Trippe
In addition to sluggish behavior with color menus when I am working with gradients or color overlays, I am now also experiencing sluggish behavior when I use the selection brush tool -- it was working beautifully and quickly until now -- sluggish is the most appropriate word, although it almost doesn't work at all -- so I'm assuming from what I'm reading here that the problem must be related to Monterey. But what seems odd is that these problems didn't manifest themselves immediately after I upgraded to Monterey. So you would advise downloading that beta update, since auto updates aren't available yet? Edited January 5, 2022 by CH Trippe Wanted to add something. CH Trippe
So I went to the App Store and did a search, fairly thorough I thought, but couldn't find any Affinity Photo Customer Beta update. Got "No Results" when I typed it into the search field. I only updated to Monterey about a month ago, so I guess I'm getting in a little late on this conversation. So where do I find the fix? The betas are not in the App Store, they are from Serif/Affinity. They also do not have updates per se. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.2 Affinity Designer 2.3.1 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
CH Trippe
Thank you, Bruce. Obviously I misread/misunderstood. So, sigh, I guess I'll be waiting until Apple fixes the bug in Monterey, which surely they will have to do pretty soon, since it appears that this problem is affecting quite a few dedicated Affinity users. But apparently not everyone is experiencing the same kinds of issues. While I am experiencing lags with certain tools, I am still able to export images -- so far! ( I always export a jpeg to store in Photos, for safe-keeping as it were, and keep the duplicate Affinity file active so I can make layer changes as needed).
