I think it would be better if you repeat your export in Affinity Photo with Bicubic option being selected.

As I already mentioned it seems like you've done it with Bilinear which is default. And unfortunately, this option makes everything a bit blurry and lacking the details.

I'm pretty much sure you'll be completely satisfied with the quality of Bicubic algorithm.

Indeed odd, since your iMac has a Retina screen, right? To me it was visible in the OP's image in the browser already & obvious when viewing in 100%. What if you view it on your iPad?

How about this comparison, don't the 2 in the middle (fig. 2 + 5) look softened to you?
