Tony Lewis
I have tried to update to v1.10.4 but have received a message saying that there is not enough disc space (c drive). Is there an easy way to transfer Affinity to my external hard drive (d drive) which has a lot more space? Thanks Tony
Komatös
Hello @Tony Lewis and welcome tothe forums. It is not a good idea to install on an external drive. It would be better to delete files that are no longer needed. Enter memory optimisation in the Windows search. Ron P.
I agree with Komatos, not a good ideal to install on an external drive. Are you on a Laptop or Desktop? If desktop, you can install to a second internal drive. What people have done for years, is partition the main drive (C). On the second partition, they install all programs (apps). They only install the operating system on C. Quote Affinity Photo 2.4..; Affinity Designer 2.4..; Affinity Publisher 2.4..; Affinity2 Beta versions. EWGU
Why isn't there an option to install to a different drive example Drive D:? Maybe I missed something, but I don't want to partition my C as it is a small SSD in this new computer. Only 220 GB. I'm new to these SSD drives and will order a larger one but until then I still need assistance to install my other larger drive D. I don't remember seeing any option to do that? There is, when you first install the applications, and if you purchased direct from Serif. If you purchased from the Microsoft Store then Microsoft controls where it installs. Sovereign One
Hi guys, I have affinity on my C drive but would like to migrate to my D partition which is on the laptop and not external, can this be done?
John Rostron
Hello @Sovereign One, and welcome to the forums. Yes, you can do this. You can uninstall from your C drive, and re-install on your D drive. Or you can use an App such as ApplicationMover (Windows), which will transfer everything and adjust the registry keys. I have all my apps on my D drive.
