Mmmmm, I was hoping on a deal cause I missed the latest discount of 20% 2 months ago for designer.

Also photo looks promissing but sorry to say pixelmator have an 50% discount on black friday

Please reconsider I would buy both designer as photo when they are on sale.

I think AP and AD are the ultimate bargain, even at full price. They are not necessarily full-featured and mature like PS and Illustrator yet, but they are getting there fast. Consider the huge price difference between these four apps, you'll know what I mean.

Pixelmator for me is nice and cute but it's more of an eye-candy interface and app, I find and it never totally does what I want it to. I'd consider Acorn to be more of a serious app for what I need when I work on my photos but AP is already beyond that at version 1.3.5. I haven't tried the customer betas yet, I'm waiting for the official update, but AP and AD betas sound very cool indeed.

Black Friday has no meaning anywhere other than the United States, so… yeah, that’s why.

Whilst that was true a couple of years ago, but BF is now being compared to the Boxing day sales: so if there were to be a reduction in App prices...wouldn't it be showcased in the MAS?

You paid for Apple hardware (probably at a premium)... and now you need cheap(er) software?   ;)

I might be biased, but Affinity is a bargain at our full price.  If we'd sold it for $200, would you think it was a bargain at $100?

my suggestion would be to create a pack (designer+photo) and take £5 off (people will understand it's already so cheap and you're making the effort to offer a deal) -> convince me to buy!

*on a side note, wouldn't it be easier to use the email as username for the forum site? chrome stores email/password for each site and fills it in automatically

thanks for your hard work! It's refreshing to see an alternative to Adobe and importing AI and PSD is killer feature and it works really well (doesn't bother me you can't save back :)

As far as I understand, Affinity have extended their discount which was initially due to expire on the 24th.

Also, there is a preview video in that link, that alone should be enough to convince anyone to buy regardless of the price.

I saw a sign a few years ago "Buy one, get one". Yorkshire of course, where else? And before the pc, taking offence by proxy brigade jump in, I'm a Yorkshireman.

When it's out of beta I'm happy to pay £39.99 for AP. Or £49.99. Or £59.99. Or....

As I have posted elsewhere Photoshop, back when you could buy it, was six hundred pounds, or thereabouts. Now maybe AP isn't there quite yet but it's heading in the right direction. Who are all of these skinflints?

Some (independent) online shops have taken to closing completely on Black Friday, as it is not something they want to be seen as partaking in...

The problem wth Black Friday is that people are expecting the sales - so the sales effectively become the standard price, since most people will wait to buy at the reduced price.  Certain big online retailers beginning with 'A' know this, and they adjust their prices so that the sale price is the price they really want to sell for. Anyone who tracks prices will see that Black Friday sales this year were just throwing the same stock out at the prices from a couple of months ago.

Why would any sane retailer want to get on board with this charade?
