Passthrough and Picture Frames

Recommended Posts

According to the Affinity tutorial, when a picture frame is selected, it is possible to use the the place tool to add a PDF.

When I do this, I do not see the PDF passthrough option in the context toolbar so how do I check that the PDF has been passedthrough and not converted?

I prefer to drag and drop PDFs (passthrough required) onto pages and this is not a problem - drag and dropping a PDF shows the object is has passthrough in the context toolbar so it would seem that using drag and drop is the same as using the place tool.

However, I like to set up picture frames in my document and drag and drop the PDF onto these. The problem is that if I do this, I get no indication if the PDF has been passed though or not.

I am aware that I can convert a placed image into a picture frame but I almost need the opposite. The ability to change a picture frame into a placed image so that I can see/confirm that the imported document has been passed through.
