David.P
I'm trying to draw shapes over a (greatly enlarged) pixel image: Is there a way to make the shapes snap to the boundaries of the pixels?

Note this only has effect on objects you create after enabling it. ...seems to snap only the outer boundaries of shapes to pixels, but not the adjustment nodes of the shape. David.P
Handles don't even snap to the GRID? Seriously? Not even to guides and other objects...?
GarryP
As far as I know it is not possible to snap the shape adjustment handles to anything external to the shape. I’m fairly sure that at least one feature request has been created for this but you will need to do some searching to find it/them. David.P
O.k., that PowerPoint and LibreOffice can't do it is perhaps understandable, but Designer.... Or how is this in Adobe Illustrator?
GarryP
I don’t use Illustrator so I can’t comment on that. My complete guess is that we might get such functionality when the developers can get snapping working for all the handles in all of the shapes in a consistent manner. Some of the handles don’t really lend themselves to snapping to anything external to the shape, and having some handles snap and others not wouldn’t be great, user-experience-wise. lacerto
You could perhaps use the custom grid based on the underlying bitmap:
David.P
I don't think that special shapes' adjusting handles will snap to that grid.
lacerto
I am not sure what you mean but nodes and control handles do snap to the grid cross points (and also edges): (EDIT: Sorry, realized later what you mean, so probably no other way than converting to curves and then finalize afterwards.) snaptogrid.mp4
