Harrisonwells
Hello, can AD be used to design packaging? Specifically to create flat patterns of cardboard/corrugate including proper dielines? thanks in advance.
thomaso
Do you have any specif feature in mind? AD offers… various vector drawing tools incl. close/open curves functions, custom snapping settings (nodes, geometry, objects), geometry functions for curves (add, subtract, boolean etc.), 3 viewing modes (vector, pixel, wireframe (outline)), spot colors (custom and Pantone), overprinting colors for export (though limited with spot colors), exports as PDF (v1.4. to 1.7. and X-1, 3, 4), EPS + various pixel file types. AD does not offer CAD construction, measure tools, auto-labeling tools. There are many video tutorials around, on Serif websites and on Vimeo or Youtube, for instance "Packly How-To: Correctly Display Your Dieline in Affinity Designer" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zWhiXxm6vA Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 only
Harrisonwells
Thank you for your reply. Other than dimension tools which I would love to see in AD, the features which you listed pretty much cover it all. The isometric feature is really nice for showing a pseudo 3d client approval! Thanks also for the YT link!
