Ikikuru
Hey All, I have a question around refining selections. The example attached is pretty simple as it’s mainly a single colour, though it is very slightly lighter at very edges. I want to cut it out from the white background, I chose the select sample colour tool. It looks like it gets a perfect selection (other options appear to do the same). But when I then select it and copy it onto a black background you see all the imperfections against the black background. Is there a way to sort of ‘shrink’ the selection by a few mm’s so you in effect cut into a little thus removing the fringing imperfections? I’ve noticed before on something more complex, say a person in a photo, you always get this fringing. Unless I’m using it wrong, the refinement tool does not appear to refine to that level. I’m hoping there is some way to achieve this. Would be amazing, especially with the more complex selections! fuck cancer 2.afphoto
DM1
This one is easy. Just use Erase white paper and add a black fill layer. The selection process works too. It’s a pixel image of text so zooming will eventually show pixelated edges. Increase dpi may help too. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Adding transparency at the white end of the Source graph under ‘Layer Options’ keeps the pink colour opaque. Once you have a selection, you can tap the Grow/Shrink selection tool. I used about 9pm when testing. Keep in mind your image is only 72 dpi. I resisized to 1200 dpi and got better results but you get big files. 300dpi is good for most situations and smaller file sizes. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
