Peter.P.
Hi, I'm a total newbie to AD and I've never used Adobe IL before. I'm trying to create two parallel lines on this segment - one on each side of the original - so I can fill each side with a different color. I tried the method mentioned by GarryP at this URL: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/72716-parallel-lines/ but had no luck#1 Art copy.afdesign. Is there something I am doing wrong, or is there a better method to achieve the desired outcome? Thanks, Peter
G13RL
Hi @Peter.P. One solution would be to create a brush to apply to the line. The rectangle with gradient on the left of my screenshot was used as a basis to create the brush, which was then applied to the line. The different thickness settings (color, lines) are to be done in the gradient. Peter.P.
Peter.P.
Hi @G13RL That's an interesting idea. I'll have to try this out and see how it works. Frankly, I'm so new to all of this that I probably should do more research before I post questions. I really appreciate your reply. Thanks, Peter

lacerto
One could additionally hide the rasterization of the center of the gradient brush by applying an additional vector stroke with the Appearances panel, but I have not managed to get that work if the brush initially has non-black components (like two colors above). But it works if one of the brush colors is black: ...to do this (the yellow stroke can have any color, here it is dark yellow on lighter yellow background): ...to hide the center rasterization that would show without the additional centerline stroke: (The edges could have an additional stroke to encapsulate the entire shape but it would not hide the inner rasterization of the area where different colors meet. See below the attachment.) encapsulatedbrush.pdf
