MrJWG
So, I have used affinity before but on a different PC so I went to install it on this one instead of my other and when I went to open the setup it showed my cursor loading for about 10 seconds and then stopped and nothing opened... Could I get a bit of help with this please thanks! Jacob

MrJWG
Thanks! I looked over the different things stated and have already tried a few and the ones I haven't have no relevancy to my issue I got up my UI log and below is where the error took place - Well I believe MrJWG
When I install nothing pops up at all just have a loading cursor for a few seconds nothing opens at all not even when I looked through task manager, this is the only application having this issue as I have tested installing other things and they work perfectly fine. walt.farrell
That error message does seem relevant, but I don't know enough to suggest a fix. Someone from Serif will probably know what it means. Staff Dan C Posted October 28, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 28, 2021 Hi @MrJWG, Apologies for the delayed response, our team are very busy following the release of version 1.10.3 so our replies are a taking a little longer than usual - many thanks for your continued patience and understanding here. Can you please upload a copy of your setupUI.log file here for me, so that I can investigate this further? Many thanks in advance
MrJWG
All good, here is the file! SetupUI.log
Staff Dan C Posted October 28, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 28, 2021 Thanks for the file provided, this isn't quite like any other setupUI.log file I've seen previously - as we would usually expect an 'error' to be generated, however I can see your installer itself is crashing which is most unusual. Firstly, can you please try re-downloading the installer .exe file, as it may be that yours is partially missing/corrupted - https://store.serif.com/update/windows/designer/1/ Once downloaded, please right-click on the .exe file and select Run as Administrator. Does this install as expected for you please?
MrJWG
I tried that multiple times yesterday and today and still did not work.
MrJWG
I also tried older versions and that did not work either.
Staff Dan C Posted October 28, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 28, 2021 Thanks for confirming that for me and I'm sorry to hear this has not helped! The stack trace shown in your log file does mentioned theme resources - are you currently using any utilities to 'reskin' or modify Windows appearance? Staff Dan C Posted October 28, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 28, 2021 Thanks for verifying and trying that for me, it certainly seems 'Theme' related so I have a few suggestions - Can you please try running the .NET repair tool found at the below link, then restart your PC and trying installing Affinity once again -https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=30135 If this does not help, please create a new user account and then attempt to install the Affinity app here, this should help us determine if it's something specific to your current user account, or the hardware in your system. Please do let me know how you get on here
MrJWG
Just dud both of them and have no luck...

Staff Dan C Posted October 28, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 28, 2021 That's certainly strange, did you experience the same behaviour in the new user account - or did you observe something different? Our developers do believe that Translucent TB may be the cause of this, are you willing to try uninstalling this, then restarting your PC and trying once again for me?
MrJWG
I will uninstall Translucent TB now and restart and try again and let you know how it goes. Dan C
MrJWG
I also have wallpaper engine could that possibly be interfering as well I did quit it when I did the Translucent TB test.
