Table of Contents Glitch

This is in Publisher 1.10.3 on macOS 10.14.6.

Procedure:

  1. Start typing a paragraph into a text frame (in my case it is a new text frame I created in a new blank document)
  2. In the middle of the paragraph, click the button in the TOC panel to add a TOC.

Actual Result:

  • The text "No table of contents entries found" gets appended to the paragraph, but no TOC is added - the "TOC:" dropdown in the panel has nothing available to select.

Desired Result - one of:

  • A table of contents would be created at the insertion point, and be added to the TOC panel (best).
  • A new paragraph would be inserted at the insertion point so that the TOC could start on a new line (good).
  • The button to create a TOC would be disabled to prevent me from trying this when I am not at the beginning of a paragraph if it is not going to work (fair).

I see the same on Windows. Good catch, @fde101.

I have to wonder about the actual utility of having a ToC in the middle of a paragraph. Or even as the end of a paragraph. I can put a ToC in once I have a new paragraph started.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
