zaflemos
I did that too, but I could never got those result. 90% is on the artist skill + technique I presume. You are just beyond among the best. Hope to see more of your work.
VectorVonDoom
You missed out patience, that's definitely a big part of it. If you fancy trying it then don't over think things and just do it but don't pick something too complicated, at least to start with. Some would argue, and I wouldn't totally disagree, that raster would be easier. However it's partly down to what you are more comfortable using. I'm working on one last photorealistic piece but then am thinking about something different and perhaps less effort! Any chance you will ever do any video tutorials, to give an idea of your workflow @VectorVonDoom your work is seriously impressive!
VectorVonDoom
I don't think it's something you can easily teach also, as it's such slow work, it would be a very long video(s) for anything fancy. I did have a search and found a fairly simple image that I thought people on reddit could try out as people had asked the same thing. I thought it would be OK to try and walk through it in stills/explanations but it turned out that no one was interested enough to want to try (plus it's a rubbish platform for that as you still can't reply with embedded images just links). To be honest with the current state of graphics complicated doesn't get a whole lot of love, the simple, dumbed down stuff does and often the simpler the better. That's not necessarily a big deal as long as you enjoy it however if you want to gain a following, for example if you wanted to sell work, then it is almost a negative at the moment. zaflemos
I would gladly take anything you can throw. We learn from simple things. I am a slow learner anyway. That would even be better for me. Much appreciate for thinking of sharing your talent.
