sillyScientist
When I try and import the attached PDF from Science magazine into Affinity Pub lisher, it cannot recognize several of the fonts. As a result, after font replacement many regions of the paper are missing spaces and the alignment is off for some text boxes. What's more is several of the fonts have weird names, like: AdvP4C4E74, or AdvTT0b7bb6fa.I. What can I do here to make the PDF import smoother? science.aav3932.pdf

It seems to be that the PDF library (iText) used, changed the font names. Even in Acrobat they are named this way. If there is any chance, I would ask the maker of the PDF which fonts were used in the document. sillyScientist 1 Quote ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
walt.farrell
You may have to Place the pages one at a time into your Affinity document, rather than Opening it. You can then select Passthrough mode rather than Interpreted, and you won't need the fonts installed locally.
