I can't for the life of me figure out how to affect both handles simultaneously when I convert a node from a sharp node. I want both of the smooth nodes' handles to move in the opposite direction equal amount. Attached a screenshot in case I'm not being clear. Thanks! If you press shift in the Node Tool while dragging a control handle, Affinity will tell you when both handles have the same length placing a small vertical mark in the middle of the handles. Currently that's the only thing that may help you a little. I believe your request will be addressed soon.
