Affect both handles simultaneously

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have searched around in the forum and no one seems to have asked this before.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to affect both handles simultaneously when I convert a node from a sharp node.

I want both of the smooth nodes' handles to move in the opposite direction equal amount.

Attached a screenshot in case I'm not being clear.

Thanks!

Hi David,

There's no way to affect both handles in Affinity Designer simultaneously at this point.

If you press shift in the Node Tool while dragging a control handle, Affinity will tell you when both handles have the same length placing a small vertical mark in the middle of the handles. Currently that's the only thing that may help you a little. I believe your request will be addressed soon. Some users already asked for it.

The vertical mark will do for now. Thanks for the answer.

To move handles of a smooth node symmetrically with equal distances hold down the left and right mouse buttons while dragging (shift to constrain at 45 degrees angles). In the macOS version, click control to do so.

This is the only way I know how to do this. I too wish there was a different way to accomplish this because I use a pen & tablet.
