Invisible column guides

Hi,

I created a text frame with 3 columns on a blank page and the column guides are visible only when the text frame is selected. I couldn't find anything in "View" manu and "Text Frame" panel to check/uncheck anything that will make them visible. Any sugestions?

Some possibilities:

1. View > Show Text Flow. That will show all text frames, all the time (including whether they have overflowing text), and when one is active will show how it flows to other text frames.
   or
2. Setup column guides for the page itself, and then use View > Show Column Guides. View > Guides Manager will let you configure those page column guides.

1. This is partially helpful because it shows frame text linking arrows which I don't need. What I need is column guides only.

2a. Show column guides was already checked but it didn't help.

2b. Guides Manager does not help either. There you can set page guides, not text frame ones.

Column guides means the 3 columns in the Text Frame, right? Or does it mean the Column Guides you'll have on a page? Here I see them both, the Column Guides on the Master Page are applied to the pages and are solid teal coloured. You may have chosen a colour too light to be seen and have it set to Outline instead of Solid.

Yes, in the text frame. I create the text frame directly on the working page, not via master page. In this case I don't want to use master pages.

I didn't assigned any color. Everything is default and I still can't see the column guides.

I believe you are seeing the text frame column guides because you have View > Show Text Flow enabled. Without it, that frame would be invisible.

Well I will be...

I have Show text flow enabled all the time so I never noticed this. Kind of silly in my opinion.
