AlanPickup
Hi I have to admit that I do not use photo very much as Publisher is the main reason I bout the full application package. I have used one of the online B&W to colour apps and in general I am pleased with the results. I have a group of wedding photos were the bridesmaids and maid of honour were wearing patterns that where all the rage in 60/70s In general it has picked the purple/lilac colour up quite well, but there are patches where it is quite red in colour. Does anyone have any suggestions for making it more purple/lilac in those areas. NotMyFault
You could use a fill layer with color of you choice, set blend mode to hue. paint in black over fill layer where effect is unwanted (e.g. hands) Lower fill layer opacity to taste. Or with blend mode color Edited October 8, 2021 by NotMyFault Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | Windows 10 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Staff MEB Posted October 8, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 8, 2021 Hi @AlanPickup, You can also try using an HSL Adjustment (select the reds) which also has a built-in mask in case it's needed. AlanPickup
Thanks for the replies Notmyfault as I am on desktop it was a bit hard to follow your way. MEB thanks for that, I have not used adjustment layers before for recolouring. Found I was able to get a reasonable result using an HSL adjustment mask and I brightness contrast mask. Will play about with this way a bit more later to see if I can refine. What sort of mask blend mode would I use to make the hands more flesh coloured?
