Markio
I would like to create a sequence of numbers or letters or a combination running along multiple text frames. Is that possible without manually typing the sequence?
Old Bruce
You could generate them in a spreadsheet and or using a script. Then you could merge them using publisher's datatmerge ability. This solution may be more work than just typing them in. Markio
Hi @Old Bruce, I was hoping It could be solved without scripting or spreadsheets. I was hoping I could create a field consisting of a sequence like Word has.
Old Bruce
I like to work with files that are almost pure text, so I have gotten used to working that way. There are many roads to Rome, I frequently take the scenic route just out of habit. Markio
In the end I created a series of small linked text frames with a paragraph numbering inside a larger text frame and using text wrap. It works, but it's quite finicky to set up.

You should be able to use individual text frames as long as your Paragraph Text Style has a Name specified for the numbering, and possibly has the Global option set.
