aaanouel
It would be very nice if being able to convert line pressure outline to a curve for being able to edit the shape later.
Staff MEB Posted November 19, 2015 Staff Share Posted November 19, 2015 Hi aaanouel, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) I'm not sure which app you're talking about. I'm assuming it's Designer. If the stroke you've drawn is vector based you can convert it to a shape/curves going to menu Layer ▸ Expand Stroke. If it's bitmap based (textured) it can't be converted to a shape. Argonox
Hey Meb! maybe I've got the same problem like aaanouel. After creating a stroke, I apply the line pressure "effect". Afterwards I want to outline the shape by using "Layer-Expand Stroke"... unfortunately "Expand Stroke" ignores my pressure effect. :-( "Expand Stroke" creates a weird shape that does not represent the original :-( Twomen
Staff MEB Posted December 3, 2015 Staff Share Posted December 3, 2015 Hi Argonox, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) I'm not able to replicate this here. You should be able to expand a line/stroke with a pressure profile to a shape/path. Can you attach your file so i can check what's going on please? Thanks. Staff MEB Posted December 3, 2015 Staff Share Posted December 3, 2015 That's because the Milter value (width dropdown on context toolbar) is set to one. Change it to the default value (1.414) and it should work as expected. Twomen
Hi, and what means "Milter value"? What sets this value? And why default value is "1.414"? I was looking in Affinity Designer Help, but no result. Thanks.
