Joachim_L
Maybe this is reported before, but I cannot find it. It is not a bug, but a flaw. Make a small selection with one of the selection tools and type in a high feather value like 1024px. The marching ants vanish instantly, but that a selection is active you can see by the result while painting inside the "selection". Deselecting the invisible selection reverts everything back to normal. Wosven
The bug is that you can't know there's a selection because there's no marching ants?

Yes, it looks like if the selection fails, but it is active. I think this is not a bug, but an imperfection. Alfred
I think the flaw or imperfection is that in this scenario the entire region will be less than 50% selected, and it’s ‘by design’ that there are no marching ants around a selected region unless its ‘selectedness’ is 50% or more. Wosven
Some visual tip in the UI, perhaps near the selection buttons on the context tool bar would be helpful, in different ways, since people tend to complain they can"t pain because the can't see the selection (it can be out of the diplay too)... Staff Chris B Posted October 7, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 7, 2021 Photoshop warns when you try to make a selection with a Feather setting too big for the selecton and says that the edges will not be visible - I'm pretty sure we've had this logged as an improvement for a while. I'll find it and give it a nudge!
