Publisher Beta - 1.10.2.1167 - Package BUG

Recommended Posts

After save as package some files (psd, eps) are linked and missing. What this means: missing or linked?

P.S. After re-open document all looks good.

I think that problem is in Resource manager (see my latest posts with Persona editing and Resource manager)

Linked means the files are Linked, not Embedded.

Missing means they are Linked, but no longer present in the folder where the application expected to find them.

Are you saying that:

  1. You had a document (say, A.afpub), which contains some Linked PSD or EPS files, and
  2. The Resource Manager showed them as OK, not Missing, and
  3. You did a File > Save As Package to create B.afpackage, and
  4. Then in A.afpub the Resource Manager showed them as Missing?

Or are you talking about finishing step 3, then opening B.afpackage, using the Resource Manager, and having them shown as Missing there?

Yes, but in B.afpub  (B.afpub=B.afpackage+Save as --> .afpub) Resource Manager showed them as Missing and Linked at the same time (first screenshot), although these files were in the same new image folder.

Thanks to @anto, I see I may have the same issue on the Mac beta (1.10.2.1167). Related to this issue, I have a slowdown on a file with linked APhoto, eps and PSD files. Attempting in Resource Manager to replace items that are either APhoto or PSD files with jpg, TIFF or PDF versions. However, having tried to replace 3 of them, each time in Resource Manager when I replace one with a PDF version, it shows up listed as Missing in Resource Manager and Preflight. But if I save and close the doc, then reopen, it now shows as OK. And what I see on screen at 100% looks correct. HOWEVER, when I Replace with a TIFF, they show OK. No need to close and reopen. Just the PDF replacements are causing the problem. But as stated in the above post, after closing and reopening the file, the show linked and OK with no issues. Very likely a bug.
