jhgl
My Mediathek is on a external HDD. From inside Affinity Photo I can not open files from my Mediathek. The only way to work with Affinity Photo is to open the Photo App where I can choose and select Affinity Photo as the software to open the file. How do I get access to my photos the "normal" way from inside Affinity Photo?
walt.farrell
What is a Mediathek, and what kind of files (file name, extension) are you working with? jhgl
The Mediathek is the folder where all the photos sit. Normal image files like jpeg, png. The real problem is Affinity Photo will not open the folder.
Old Bruce
Is Mediathek simply the name of an ordinary folder that you made and named yourself? I ask because there is some sort of service with that name. What do you mean by "Photo App"? Are you maybe talking about the Mac Photos app or something else? If it is that app, are you talking about editing something in its library through the Affinity Photo extension or something else? PixelPest
If you´re using Photos.app to organize your photos they go into a package and held hostage in "Photos Library.photoslibrary" - you can examine its content via context-menu "Show content"->originals. If you want to edit a photo with APh, the normal way is to open it by double-clicking on it, then click on "Edit" and under Extensions: select "Edit In Affinity Photo", which will automatically start APh and load the image. These extensions can also be added later via "Manage" if they are listed in the macOS-Preferences in Extensions. They would then have to be activated/checked so that Photos.app knows about them.
