RM f/g
Having saved my file and quit Publisher, after a while (20–30 sec) I often get the message that Publisher unexpectedly quit. Now, for me it didn't quit unexpectedly as I quitted the program myself and didn't see anything extraordinary happening, so I'm a bit puzzled here. Happens with 10.1 retail and 10.2 beta and earlier with 1.9 as well. Crash report attached. Staff Pauls Posted October 4, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 4, 2021 Seems related to a hunspell dictionary - have you installed additional ones ?
RM f/g
I have installed an extra nl_NL dictionary. I believe because the abbreviation in Publisher didn't work as expected. I'll remove it and see what happens. Thanks. RM f/g
I removed all nl-NL dictionary files from folder ~/library/spelling. And yes, it makes a difference: – no more 'unexpectedly quit' messages; – no more hyphenation. Applied settings In System Prefs > Keyboard > Tekst > Spelling: Dutch In APublisher – Text Style > Language > Spelling: Dutch – Text Style > Language > Hyphenation: Auto (there is no option 'Dutch' in the ‘Hyphenation’ this list, but choose any other language from this list and the text will hyphenate, be it in onorthodox places) – Text Style > Paragraph > Hyphenation: Use Auto Hyphenation: yes Remedy Restored file ‘hyph_nl_NL.dic’ in subfolder ’nl_NL’ inside ’spelling’ folder (not the nl_NL.dic and nl_NL.aff files). Now hyphenation works again without ‘unexpectedly quit’ messages. Staff Pauls Posted October 18, 2021 Staff Share Posted October 18, 2021 Hi, The hyphenation dictionary hasnt been downloaded correctly it is actually the html page rather than the required dictionary
RM f/g
I see. I checked the newly installed hyphenation dictionary (a new download) and that one is ok, no html. So that solves it. Thanks. Pauls 1 Quote Macbook Pro mid 2015, 16 GB, double barrel: MacOS Mojave + Affinity 1 / MacOS Monterey + Affinity
