Unfortunately this isn't the only problem. When I work on something in AP then go to quit and select not to save I get the spinning wheel for quit some time before the app closes. This doesn't always happen but happens enough to be irritating. Also when I open the app, sometimes it asks me if I want to recover a file. No idea why. If I Quit the application and choose to not save a file when asked, then I get the recover file next time I start up. I usually close the file and choose to not save before quitting. Then I do not see the recovery question. The long time for quitting may be due to a large amount of data on the clipboard, takes forever to close sometimes here and that is what I have found to be the culprit. Is there a way to purge the clipboard?
Old Bruce
If I remember, what I do is copy a tiny selection of something, even just a layer with a small amount of text on it, then quit. Might also be a problem if you are saving the History with the document. I never do that so I have no experience as to whether or not it affects the quitting time. I seem to remember when I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator many years ago that I was able to purge the clipboard. Maybe Affinity will add that to it's product...seems like a good thing to have.
