NotMyFault Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 Hi, i didn’t find anything in help how to create a compound in Photo. I worked around by using Designer (long press in Layer>Geometry>Add) and saved this file. Copy/Paste again didn’t work between Apps. Are Compounds (creating them) supported in Photo? Not currently though whether by design or a bug, who knows. The fact that it’s been omitted in Help suggests it been left out by design. Hopefully more an oversight, as documents containing compounds work well, and it is supported on Designer, and even in Photo on Windows/ Mac. Designer on Win( and possibly Mac) shows the only good menu implementation, having a dedicated menu item. The Alt Key / Long press workaround as modifier for “geometry add” from other versions / platforms is horrible UI - practically impossible to spot and weakly documented. Paul Mudditt Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Yes you can use compound objects in Photo on iPad:- Method 1: Just create an Asset pack with a Compound Object in it in Designer. You can then use it in Photo on iPad to create further compound objects. Method 2: Use my Create Compound Object macro in my latests Mud's Macros Library. Mud’s Macros V9 SelectionFromLayer - convert a layer into a pixel selection SelectAllLayers - select all layers quickly DeSelectAllLayers - de select all layers quickly PencilPortrait - Convert Photo to pencil sketch (Credit: Alpha Sierra, YouTube) InpaintCrop2 - fix edges after a straighten crop (Credit: Jim Welsh) Inpaint - the inpaint option from the desktop. Sketch Effect by R C-R - Converts to a sketch effect Dave’s 6-Layer High Pass Sharpening - Uses 6 layers of sharpening ExpandStroke - Expand Stroke from Designer Create Artboard - Create an Artboard from Designer TextOnCurve - Text on Curve from Designer Pre-Process - Add a curve and a sharpening layer FSStack by InAffinity Wraparound V1.8 by John Rostron Create Compound Object - Create Compound from Designer These macros will work on PC, Mac and iPad versions. It is a “.afmacros” library file so in desktop use view->studio->library and import into the library pane not the macro panel which is only for single “.afmacro” files. I wonder who decides what features get switched on in UI for each of the iPad apps. I guess they need to maintain some points of difference between the apps. 🤔 Paul Mudditt and NotMyFault 2 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
