evtonic3
Why are the iPad apps always initializing after I move to another app and come back to them?
Staff Dan C Posted September 27, 2021 Staff Share Posted September 27, 2021 Hi @evtonic3, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! This isn't something I've heard of previously - have you recently updated to iOS 15 please? If possible, could you provide a screen recording showing the 'initializing' you're referring to? Many thanks in advance Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Staff Dan C Posted September 28, 2021 Staff Share Posted September 28, 2021 Many thanks for your recording! I can see your iPad was locked at the start of this recording, how long had the Affinity app been inactive? As far as I understand it, once 'left alone' for a certain period of time in multitasking, the app will enter a 'suspended' state as to not use up processing power/battery from your iPad, so when returning to the app it will need to re-initialize before the app can be used. As I can see from forum threads on the Apple forums (be sure to select 'All Replies'), it appeared this was made 'more aggressive' around iOS 13.2s release, as this isn't something the Affinity apps control - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250812051 I hope this clears things up evtonic3 1 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.
