Ille von Harbou Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 Hello, I have a problem with adding a second column to my text frame. I followed the tutorials by creating a text frame with some text. Then I tried to add a further column in the selection field above. But nothing happens. Did I forgot something? Thanks for helping đ Quote
PaulEC Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 Hi @Ille von Harbou Welcome to the forums. You can either use the Context Toolbar or the Text Frame Tab to add/adjust columns.  ice_video_20210924-115016.mp4 Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 â Windows 11 Home - Affinity Publisher, Photo & Designer, v2 (As I am a Windows user, any answers/comments I contribute may not apply to Mac or iPad.)
Ille von Harbou Posted September 24, 2021 Author Posted September 24, 2021 Thank you for the quick response! I tried it the same way, but publisher didnât make any subdivisions in my text frame  đ¤. I can choose any further number of columns in the context toolbar but without any effects on the text frame. Is there a secret button to unlock this đ? Quote
PaulEC Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 Sorry, I've no idea why it's not working for you! Any chance you could post a screen shot, or, even better, a video of exactly what you're doing? Also, where is the tutorial you're following?   Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 â Windows 11 Home - Affinity Publisher, Photo & Designer, v2 (As I am a Windows user, any answers/comments I contribute may not apply to Mac or iPad.)

Maybe too obvious even to mention but are you sure you have a frame text layer (one showing the "T" in a square thumbnail in the Layers panel) selected when you change the number of columns in the Text Frame panel?
