Brent Pedersen Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 When I make a change to the top leading drop-down, it doesn't change the value in the Character menu. And vice versa. Shouldn't they be linked? Shouldn't changing one change the other? Sometimes when I apply leading to text that I copied/pasted to a new text box leading doesn't work...nothing happens and I have to delete the box and type it again. Mark Oehlschlager 1 Quote

That is Paragraph Leading - and changing it will change it in both places. If you hover over the drop-down on the toolbar it will display "Paragraph Leading" Quote
Brent Pedersen Posted September 24, 2021 Author Posted September 24, 2021 I see that now. Thank you. When would you use character leading vs paragraph leading? Quote
Fixx Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 "Character leading" is really "Leading override" and it applies to text rows within a paragraph. It is seldom used. See Quote

When I have a word that is several sizes larger than the rest of the text and it is overlapping the words in the lines above.
