cgroel Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 I want to add two donuts to create a new shape, but it looks not right. Expanding the strokes does not help. Also changing the donuts to curves does not help. Do you have any other tipps what I am doing wrong? Quote
Komatös Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Hello @cgroel and welcome to the forums. Is it supposed to look like this? If so, you only need to connect both donuts with ADD. cgroel Posted September 23, 2021 Author Posted September 23, 2021 Hi @Komatös. This is exactly what I did, but it came out like the picture above. Quote

I have saved an example file with history, so you can follow step by step what I have done. cgroel Posted September 23, 2021 Author Posted September 23, 2021 Hi @Komatös. This is what I am looking for, but unfortunately I still have the same issue. I can create this effect with two bigger donuts, but not with thinner ones (please see picture). I followed the same steps for both shapes. Quote
Komatös Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Can you try with deactivated hardware acceleration? You find this under Preferences --> Performance. If this doesn't help. Activate again. cgroel Posted September 23, 2021 Author Posted September 23, 2021 I tried, but it did not help. Is it possible, that it is because I am using Affinity Designer in German and not in English? Quote

cgroel Posted September 23, 2021 Author Posted September 23, 2021 I am trying to combine two donuts that have a size of 300 mm and a hole radius of 93%. Quote
PixelPest Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Yes - there´s a bloody issue. Confirmed. Quote
cgroel Posted September 23, 2021 Author Posted September 23, 2021 After decreasing the size of the donuts to 200 mm it worked. I will increase the size after I combined them. Thank you all for your help. Much appreciated! Quote
PixelPest Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Nonetheless it´s a bug. If you want it non-destructive you can generate a Compound via Layer->Create Compound. Quote

Ron P. Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 I wasn't able to replicate the author's issue on Win10. However I think I managed to replicate an aerial view of one of these notorious Mix-Master(that's what my ex-wife called them, she's from there). I added the entrances/approaches too. We all know there's no exits on those. People have been known to go missing once they enter. 😄🤣 Quote Affinity Photo 2.6..; Affinity Designer 2.6..; Affinity Publisher 2.6..; Affinity2 Beta versions.
