Hi,

I usually like using AP in 'Separated' mode.

I'd like to be able to automatically zoom the canvas to fit the desktop, but without the top/side of the canvas disappearing behind the toolbars.

I usually manually place the canvas window and zoom using the grab handles, but a couple of times when Ive been doing this, the window has automatically zoomed to fit the desktop, and remained beneath/inside the toolbars.

I haven't been able to find anything in the documentation that describes this - and I havent been able to reproduce it.

What is the method by which I can automatically zoom the window to fit the desktop, without the canvas expanding behind the toolbars  ?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi GaryJones,

If you double click along the top border of the canvas window does it stretch to fit your entire screen?
Thanks

I don't think there is a method to automatically zoom to an arbitrary portion of the screen.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Yes - but that is what Im trying to avoid, because the canvas is obscrued by the top/side toolbars.

Hi Old Bruce,

As I mentioned in my post, this can be done, because its happened a couple of times 'by accident'.

A blue border is created around the perimeter of the canvas, and it then zooms to fit the available screen space, below/inside the toolbars.

I'm just not clear on how to repeat this.

Hi @Gary.JONES,
Are you using the application in Separated Mode but in fullscreen or just regular Separated Mode (no full-screen)?

Hi MEB,

Not in full screen - just 'regular' Separated Mode (no full-screen :)

OK - I've figured this out ...

A new (separated) window automatically zooms to fit the available screen space (below/inside the toolbars) IFF there is already a window of those proportions - it just gets added to the existing toolbar.
