Eric Alsandor Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 When Exporting to .PDF from a Publisher file, Publisher RASTERIZES the entire page. I have NO idea why it does this but it giving me high levels of anxiety because I cannot finish the project. I have checked the layers over and over again for filters that might effect the entire page. I have played around with advanced settings in the export tab. It makes no sense why even my txt boxes become rasterized. The only thing that doesnt rasterize are is the "artistic" floating lines of text on the page. From my research Ive seen some people complaining about this but no real answers. I need help this is stalling out my entire process. Below is a sample example of things affinity is MYSTERIOUSLY choosing to rasterize since the UPDATE like if this is bug its going to cost me HOURS of rebuilding charts. before the update this exported to .pdf with no issues not it rasterizes the entire page rasterize questing file.afpub full chart.afpub Quote
walt.farrell Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Eric Alsandor. In your questions file, the box that is becoming rasterized has a 75% opacity. That transparency is probably causing the rasterization. Try setting it to 100% and see if that fixes the problem. Dazmondo77 Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 You have FX on a lot of elements, these will be rasterised, you also have transparency on some elements which can be saved as vector in a PDF format that supports transparency: PDF 1.7 or for sending to a print service provider PDF/X-4 not PDF/X-1a A quick way of seeing what elements are causing raster is to save as pdf and click the more button and set Rasterise to nothing, which should make a pdf without all your layer FX - I find it best to approach a job from the outset by having all the vector elements on the very top layer (with no effects) and you could either recreate your drop shadows as vector or group and duplicate your all vector layer, place on a layer below then add your outer shadow FX to the whole group, and then in the bottom right of the layer effects, set fill opacity to 0%, which will rasterise on output to PDF, but be beneath the vector elements layer which should remain vector Quote Mac Pro Cheese-grater (Early 2009) 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Ugee 19" Graphics Tablet Monitor Triple boot via OCLP 2.2.0 - Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6, Sonoma 14.7.3 and Mojave 10.14.6 Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo 1.10.5 - 2.6.2 Betas 2.6. www.bingercreative.co.uk
