Hi.  I’m running the latest version of Designer on iPadOS 15.

I have a structure comprised of a collection of Symbols.  Some are nested, some are not.  If I copy the structure in that document, and paste it into a new, empty document, there are no Symbols in the Symbol Studio, even though they are in the Layers Studio.  At least some Symbol behavior is preserved - for example,  rotating one instance of a Symbol rotates the other instances, changing visibility propagates as expected too (I haven’t done an exhaustive check).

I assume that the Symbol Studio remaining empty is expected behavior, but what are the consequences of the Symbol Studio remaining empty?

Regards

This is the correct behaviour when you copy the structure the contents of the symbols studio will not be copied, the main consequence of this is that if you make a change to a symbol it will not be replicated to all of the other placed symbols.

Thanks for your response.  I’ll have to play with this a little more to make sure I really understand.  It might explain why my Symbols sometimes don’t propagate expected, but I haven’t been paying close enough attention to be sure this connects those dots.

Thanks again.
