Windows don't typically behave that way. 6 hours ago, Gary B said: my other problem is some setting have adjustments and some dont What kind of settings would you expect for Invert? 6 hours ago, Gary B said: once click it adds it to the layers and maybe i didnt want it to there is no option button to apply or a X to close the window and cancel, The window that pops up with the options for most of the adjustment layers and live filters offer the "Merge" and "Delete" buttons for convenience: The "Merge" button will sometimes merge the adjustment layer into the layer(s) impacted by the adjustment, removing the adjustment layer, in the case that this is feasible: with vector objects it often isn't in which case it simply closes the window and leaves the layer intact, but if it is applied to a raster layer it will instead "bake in" the adjustment and the adjustment layer goes away. The "Delete" button deletes the adjustment layer. This window is not required to create the adjustment layer - it is already there when you select the option in the context menu. The window simply provides access to the controls for the parameters of the adjustment; the "Merge" and "Delete" buttons, while convenient, are not necessary as their functions can be done in other ways. 6 hours ago, Gary B said: i find my self spending a lot of time deleting the layer setting i dont want. Just press the delete key on your keyboard. The invert layer is selected upon creation so that should get rid of it quickly and easily. Quote
Gary B Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 (edited) didnt realize i posted this in the wrong forum im trying to not use a bunch of hot keys to do some thing and if im not applying it then why would it apply, sure i can press UNDO or delete. if you click file >new >document and if you click anyone it wont make a new one until you press create same as confiriming, but you can still click any other one to see it update with out confirming. the assets menu dont work like that and you cant change your mind once selected with out pressing more keys to get rid of some thing you did not confirm. be like file>new>document and as soon as click any icon it made that document size. work around is not fixing it its just another way of doing it 5 hours ago, fde101 said: What kind of settings would you expect for Invert? its under (adjustment) if there is nothing to adjust then why is it there? Gary B Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 the name does me no good i need to see the setting the one that all ways gets me is FX if i accindently click it i have to press another key to remove it, i can press the X or ESC key i dont like to press ESC because some time i just dont want to keep my left hand on the keyboard and i dont want to click the X because now i have to move my mouse, if my cursor is over FX then click once to open and click again to close or chose another setting to close the previous setting, my cursor is where i can open or close or chose another setting so my cursor in the area is what i want Quote

Why does the name of the type of layer do you no good? What sort of 'setting' are you needing to see? I don't know if you want to always get the FX window or you don't want that one. Wosven Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Perhaps you're beginning with the app, when you'll know it better you won't make errors or even use shortcuts to add the adjustments you need, or add shortcuts for your favorites. Quote
Gary B Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 (edited) what do you mean dismiss the fx window.? if i change my mind and dont want to use it i have to dismess the fx by esc or X. i see the name but to see what i really want i need to see ALL setting in the menu just like if i was to press FX i can see every thing but the pain is i now changed my mind so now i got to go some where else to close the menu and my cursor is over FX from the start so if my cursor is all ready there why not let me click it again to close it (simple) and left hand is free not needed to use to change any thing, maybe i have a bottle of water in my left hand using the app and trying to have fun using only the right hand with the mouse but the fun ends when your using your left hand clicking away using hot keys its just no fun. i used these setting before many of time but it all ways seams to get me where i change my mind. if you can make the software more simplify for new or advance users then why not? be like if you want to edit your post click the edit button 1 time but if you edit your post more then once you have to press CTRL+SHIFT double click the edit option then press enter 😁 which would you prefer? you dont have to be advance or new user to change your mind in the software or editing a post. i think this will wrap it up i see no other option at this time. thanks Edited September 21, 2021 by Gary B Quote
