PGT7 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Very simple it works every time ... I'm checking the text in a 132pp book ... I like the convention using an "EN" dash between numbers: 1939–45, but the author uses just the "Hyphen" which look terrible to me. So I put the hyphen in the search field and wham Publisher drops out. This is not unique to the Hyphen ... Publisher consistently crashes. Quote
PGT7 Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 In fact I have just tried another search. Search for "20" and even before clicking on search Publisher crashes. Quote
PGT7 Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 Out of interest, this is a 132 pp book with loads of pix the on-disk file size is 7.41 GB This job is currently on a 27" iMac [Late 2013] on Yosemite, the reason that is I have loads of work in InDesign that needs an occasional update. It has the only working copy of "Creative Suite 6" to keep things simple!! Quote

PGT7 Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 Hi Walt, Nope, but ... I've just created a new A4 Publisher doc and placed a Word doc file into 5 pages. Go to "Find" type "and" into search box and wham!, Publisher has gone. Quote

MikeTO Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Which version of Publisher are you using? Does it happen if you copy the text from Word and paste it into a Publisher text frame? Does it happen with other Word documents or just this Word document?
