Laganama Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Hi, below you'll find my screen recording. Quite long, I'm sorry, but I just tried to replicate the bug. It seems that the opeing of paragraph style dialog box sometimes causes wrong text reflow at some specific place/spread. In this publication it's happening just at this specific spot on page 10. Old Bruce Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Make a document with those text style and just a few pages of linked text and post that here. I do not think the opening of the dialog is causing anything, I think it may be down to the options chosen for the various Body and Heading styles. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Laganama Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 Unfortunately I can't replicate the bug with some ordinary font in use (Arial, Helvetica etc). Quote Affinity Suite 2.5.7 | Mac mini M4 Pro, 24GB, macOS Sequoia 15.2
walt.farrell Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Where in your recording (time code, to isolate the spot), is the issue happening? Laganama Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 At the begining the text reflow is broken. At the time of 0:46 I open the dialog box and the wrong text reflow fixes. Than, at 1:15 I open the Heading paragraph style settings again and the reflow brokes again (see the upper part of the screen – spread 10–11). From this time up to 4:27, when I again open the paragraph settings, it's wrong. The dialog box fixes the reflow again (at 4:27). See the transparent illustration with the ear and cherries. I think this is because you are clicking on a text style in the Text Styles panel while you have a Text Frame selected. That is going to make a change, but the text that will be changed is somewhat unpredictable as it depends on where the text cursor is located: If the text cursor is within a paragraph somewhere in the selected Text Frame(s), that paragraph will be changed to the text style you clicked on. However, if the text cursor is not within any paragraph (that is, you have a text frame itself selected) then all the paragraphs in the active (selected) text frame will be changed to that text style. There are ways you could bring up the text style editor safely: Click outside the text frame first, to deselect the frame. You do this sometimes, but not at 0:46. There are other places where you do not deselect the frame first, and at least one where you do deselect it. Right-click on the text style name and choose Edit "style name" from the context menu. Laganama Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 Hi @walt.farrell, I guess it has something to do with tracking. For the first paragraph on site 10 (magenta) i needed to set tracking to -10‰ (-9‰ is not enough). This value in this particular case seems to be the cause. When I set tracking to -11‰ everything looks fine. Screen Recording 2021-09-21 at 14.11.13.mov Quote Affinity Suite 2.5.7 | Mac mini M4 Pro, 24GB, macOS Sequoia 15.2
