Affinity Photo 1.10.1.1142 crashes when opening older files from other versions after updates / Also seems to lag

For some reason unless i start from scratch any artwork (from earlier this year or 2020 seem to choke the system up)  software seems laggy now  ( i have also tried the uncheck hardware acceleration as well ) I have a pretty strong system, plenty of memory and a strong graphics card.  Nothing new has been installed.  Been a user for a couple years now and the software was extremely stable until the last month or two.

Do you have a example file this is happening with that you can perhaps send me via DM so I can test? If so do you know the version of the app the file was last opened and saved (successfully) in?
