Affinity designer hangs when opening any document

Affinity Designer 1.10.1

First affinity designer crashed on startup. I tried to reset by holding down ctrl on launch, that did not work. Then I tried to delete prefs file (/Users/me/Library/Preferences/comlseriflabs.affinitydesigner.plist), and to remove the application support folder (/Users/me/Library/Application Support/Affinity Designer). Still did not work.

Then I reinstalled affinity designer by downloading new copy from Serif site. Now affinity designer launches, but hangs when I either try to create a New document or open an exisiting document.

What can I do to get the program to launch and open documents again?

Welcome to the forums,

I'm sorry to hear Designer is now crashing on startup. When you did the CTRL reset which boxes did you tick? If you go into the apps preferences please could you provide a screenshot of the entire performance tab? This will allow me to investigate this further with you.
