RocketPoweredTennisBall
when saving a document, even when there are basically no changes to save (opening a group and selecting one object), it freezes and does not unfreeze in a reasonable amount of time (i have not left it overnight to see). however it does successfully save the document. as far as i know, this started after updating to the recent security patch. macos 10.15.7 (19H1417) affinity designer 1.10.
Staff Callum Posted September 16, 2021 Staff Share Posted September 16, 2021 Hi RocketpoweredTennisBall, Welcome to the forums Are you saving directly to your hard drive or are you saving to a USB stick or Cloud drive etc? If you create a brand new file and try saving it does this issue occur? Please could you also tell me if you have tried reinstalling the app? Please could you also tell me if you have tried reinstalling the app? i was saving to the internal drive in a non-synced location. i had first had this with a new file but i had copied in some objects from another file before saving. i did try it on a document that i had previously had no issue with, and it happened to that as well. i will try reinstalling the app today. RocketPoweredTennisBall
ok i created a new document, containing nothing, units are mm and it's 400 dpi if that ends up mattering, and it still freezes. i will try reinstalling it next. BenjaminDavies
I am having the same issue, its been happening for weeks now, I have tried save as in different locations, rather than my iCloud and have reinstalled twice and it works ojk for a bit but its happening again. I have some artwork to get sorted today for a client and I don't know what else to try!
chrismarquardt
Same issue here. Designer 2 freezes on save (document is in iCloud but on local SSD, M2 Macbook Air), CPU goes to 100% during this. Will reboot system next to see if it helps. chrismarquardt
Restart didn't help. Moving the file to another disk didn't help. Reliably freezes on save. It's an .afdesign file on macOS. Opened it in Photo 2, it opened fine and saved fine after changes. Opened the saved file in Designer, opens fine, still doesn't save.
