Vector brushes handled less well using studiolink designer persona rather than the designer app.

Recommended Posts

I have noticed that when in Publisher and switching to the designer persona that vector brushes do not operate as smoothly as they do in Designer proper. There is less smoothing and the temporary render updates quickly but looks very rough. It is just a quirk but may need investigating.

Using Windows 10 on a Lenovo T430.

Runtime optimizations differ between our apps to make them perform best at their main purpose (in Publisher's case a mix of text and images). So it may well be that Designer Persona of Affinity Publisher may well act slightly differently to Affinity Designer, and Photo Persona of Affinity Publisher may well act slightly differently to Affinity Photo itself. I do not think they should actually be rough, but the draw may look different initially. If you think it is excessive and incorrect for you, can you provide some direct comparison (two files that are different when trying to replicate the same action in each application, or a video of the effect your are reporting.

Thanks, Patrick. It is mainly in the rendering while drawing that the problem occurs, but the resulting drawing seems less fluid when in Publisher's Designer Persona when looking at the resultant vector path.

Here are two example files.
