Export GIF with transparent background and gradient

I think you will find that the object is there in the exported GIF, bug much tinier than you may be expecting.

Here's a 1000 x 1000 px document I started with:

Here's the 1000 x 1000 px GIF file I exported:

There's a very tiny bit of red in the center of that exported file. When zoomed to 500% I see this in the center of the GIF:

That's not what I would have expected, but it seems related to the "Palettized" setting (see More...) and specifically to the default Automatic palettization that occurs.

Export GIF from a document with a transparent background and an object with a gradient from 100 percent opacity to 0. It is not displayed.

the GIF format is not the best for using transparency. Use PNG instead.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Sorry, but I was waiting for this answer. For me, it is important that a software programme works. This means that if GIF is offered, a perfect GIF must also be produced. If it is not offered because there are better solutions, then it is something else. My decision for GIF results from the difference in size. PNG 430 KB, GIF 286 KB. For internet applications, I actually always prefer the documents with a small amount of data, but I always like to take tips from professionals.

Select a colour palette (for example "Windows") in the settings under "more" in the export dialogue.

Better, although not perfect.

Ich hoffe, ich erlebe es noch, dass die deutschen Anführungszeichen in Affinity Publisher korrekt funktionieren.

Yes, various alternative palettes work better. Thanks for mentioning that.
