Honestly, I believe you are scaling down the image too much … therefore the text becomes illegible. Try it with any other pixel manipulation software, and I am quite sure you will get a very similar result …

Hm, I assume you are correct. Im comming from video perspective and I dont see this happening in Davinci resolve, after effect and any other NLE/VFX that also work in pixels . At least now I know, just seems ridiculous in a way

Honestly, I don’t think this is ridiculous, freshtea.

 

You are downscaling a screen shot from OS X by a factor of more than 4. On non-retina screens, the standard OS X menu type has an x-height of 8 pixels. So, by downscaling your screen shot, you will end up with type that has an x-height of less than 2 pixels … no wonder, that your text becomes illegible.
