freshtea
*I open a new document 1080p *I add a image that is 2180p *I want to shrink the image to fit in my 1080p project *The image gets pixelated and and really blury. Changing the image quality in preference changes nothing. What is going on?
A_B_C
Honestly, I believe you are scaling down the image too much … therefore the text becomes illegible. Try it with any other pixel manipulation software, and I am quite sure you will get a very similar result … Hope that helps … :) Alex
freshtea
Hi, Thank you for you reply. Hm, I assume you are correct. Im comming from video perspective and I dont see this happening in Davinci resolve, after effect and any other NLE/VFX that also work in pixels . At least now I know, just seems ridiculous in a way
A_B_C
Honestly, I don’t think this is ridiculous, freshtea. You are downscaling a screen shot from OS X by a factor of more than 4. On non-retina screens, the standard OS X menu type has an x-height of 8 pixels. So, by downscaling your screen shot, you will end up with type that has an x-height of less than 2 pixels … no wonder, that your text becomes illegible. Maybe you want to have a look at this post as well: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/13815-couple-of-questions/?p=66856 Cheers, Alex :)
