Very slow adjustment layers

Hi @Smolak,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

I can confirm that Affinity and Photoshop are fundamentally different apps, which means that our 'Live filters' may be slower to react when compared directly to Photoshop - however this will vary depending on your Affinity settings and they type of adjustment you're using within Affinity etc.

Can you please:

Navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here?

Provide a screen recording showing your workflow within Affinity (ie the adjustments you're using), and the issue you're seeing?

If you're unsure how to take a screen recording, please check out our FAQ linked below -

Many thanks in advance :)

Many thanks for the screenshot provided!

My tests show that Affinity Photo Layer Adjustments are fully depends on CPU speed not GPU. Probably OpenCL is not supported here.

As I understand it, any rendering on the document is controlled by the GPU (with OpenCL enabled), however I'm not 100% certain what controls the sliders themselves within the HSL dialog.

Can you please confirm for me, or provide a screen recording if possible, showing the issue you're referring to? Are you finding that the rendering on the canvas is 'slow', or are you finding that the sliders themselves appear to be reacting slowly?

Many thanks once again :)
