(Red) Background color on text despite being set to transparent

Recommended Posts

I think for most users this doesn't happen. It looks like a glitch of some kind. If hardware acceleration is enabled, turn it off and check it out.

Thank you.

The second link was just saying that it's about setting the background color - which is set to transparent in my case (see screenshots).

The first link was helpful. It seems to be a common issue with the iPad version of the app.

> We've found this can happen if you've pasted text off the web it can inherit the background colour which is then unchangable inside the app. This can then becomes the text tool's default for that file if you Synchronize Defaults from Object meaning any new text will also get this colour.

I guess that somehow also happened with me but the UI was not telling me or was somehow assuming transparent = red

What helped was

Edit > Defaults > Factory reset

This seems a bug to me, and the factory reset like a workaround. I'm happy that I can continue working on my design again.

I also experienced this issue. When I created new text frames, they had red backgrounds for no obvious reason. It happened suddenly and I don’t know why. Glad I found this thread. The solution, as posted by oschrenk, is to select the text frame and Edit > Defaults > Factory Reset.
