Andrew McIntyre
I have just done a clean reinstall of Windows 10 (Home Edition) following a corruption problem. I have used the full Affinity suite on this machine since each of the apps became available but now when I click on the download button on the Affinity website for any of the three apps nothing happens. I have tried loading them directly from an external hard-drive I have onto which I downloaded Photo, Designer & Publisher using a laptop. However this triggers a message that I need to download a Microsoft net app of some sort which appears to be massive since I gave up after 15 minutes when only a small fraction of the file had been downloaded. Does anyone here know what is causing these sudden mystifying problems?
Wosven
Hi @Andrew McIntyre, You probably forget it, but one of the update of the apps needed an update of Microsoft .NET framework to 4.4 (? or 4.8?) or upper. You need to do it for the apps to work.
Staff Dan C Posted September 6, 2021 Staff Share Posted September 6, 2021 Hi @Andrew McIntyre, As Wosven has confirmed, .NET is a fundamentally required part of the Affinity application. If you are finding the download/install of this to be slow when using the Affinity Installer, you can instead download and install .NET manually, then complete the Affinity installation as normal. Please find .NET 'framework' available to download here - https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework After downloading and installing .NET 4.8, Affinity should work as expected for you. I hope this helps
